Christine Thomas 93 of Owingsville passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt Sterling. She was born September 12, 1930 in Fleming County to John and Nora Saunders. She was a retired seamstress and farmer. She was a member of the Bethesda Church and Grace Fellowship Tabernacle. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning, jigsaw and word search puzzles and bird watching, but most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by a son Lavernon Thomas JR of Olympia, a daughter Linda Willoughby and her husband Charlie of Owingsville, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lavernon Thomas, a brother Curtis Lee Saunders, three sisters Emma Mae Humphries, Viola McKee and Stella Saunders. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Sugar Grove Christian Church with Bro. Randy Hawkins and Bro. Francis Nash officiating. Friends may visit Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5PM till 8PM at the church. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Andrew Willoughby, Bill Loyer, Chris Thomas, Allen Richardson, Richard Willoughby and Nelson Humphries. Honorary pallbearers are Kayla Loyer, Robbie Patton, Leeann Patton, Billy Tapp, Bill Tapp, William Earl Humphries, Harold Ray and Noel Lee Humphries. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
