Julius Combs 78 of Clay City passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at his residence. He was a self-employed carpenter. He is survived by one son Julius Combs JR of Clay City, two daughters, Vonetta Tharpe and husband Terry of Clay City, Elizabeth Ballou and husband Josh of Clay City, Three grandchildren Terry Don Tharpe JR, Megan Childers - Thomas, Wyatt Ballou, six great grandchildren Madison Birchfield, Brenton Tharpe, Braxton Tharpe, Chloe Blackwell, Mia Marcum, Trenton James Davis, two sisters Isabel McClure of Dayton, OH and Maxine Cox and husband Dave of Lewisburg, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents Taylor and Margret Combs, his wife Melda Marie Combs, one grandchild Darren Adams, four brothers Chester Combs, Hubert Combs, Eugene Combs, Monroe Combs, two sisters Grace Fields and Kathleen Mullins. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 15, 2016 at The Grayson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. M C Rice officiating. Friends may visit Thursday from 6 till 9 PM. Burial will be in the Elkins Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
