Roy Douglas
Johnson
Jun 9, 1947 — Dec 13, 2025
Roy Douglas Johnson 78 of Clay City passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his residence after a long illness. Roy was born June 9, 1947, in Clay City to Elmer and Belvia Johnson. He was a retired Heavy equipment operator, Mechanic, and Carpenter. He loved his family and friends, kids, and dogs. He was happiest when he was on his backhoe or motorcycle or under the hood of any vehicle. He had a firm belief in God, without a deep understanding of doctrine. But I convinced him that God understood his simple prayer. He was baptized in the Methodist Church but just wanted to be just a Christian. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Debra, a daughter Rebecca Johnson, two sons Nathan Johnson (April), Casey Johnson (Veronica) three grandchildren Amber Johnson, Dillard Blackburn, April Johnson three great grandchildren Ethan Whisman, Waylon Johnson, and Jasey Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Harold and Ronnie Johnson, two sisters Josephine Brush and Thelma Muncie. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Grayson funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Sammy Falkner officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday December 16, 2025 from 6 PM till 8 PM and Wednesday from 11 AM till time of the service. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of services.
